Bill Whitney is a founder and executive director of the homegrown Nebraska conservation and education organization Prairie Plains Resource Institute, located in Aurora, Neb. Prairie Plains is dedicated to celebrating people and the land and carries out its mission through a nationally recognized youth education day camp program called SOAR (Summer Orientation About Rivers), high diversity prairie restoration, preserve establishment and management, and resource-related public participation planning and events.
